The simple things I’m checking around the house right now to make it safer for my toddler

It’s been a minute!
Things got quiet around December. Life got busy (surprise pregnancy! Baby boy coming this summer!), I needed a reset, and I stepped away for a bit. But I’ve missed this space, and I’ve missed writing to you.
So this is me coming back. Same heart behind Recall Mom, just a little more real life mixed in.
Safety is still a huge part of what I care about. It always will be. But I also want to talk about the day-to-day of motherhood. The things we’re all figuring out in real time while trying to keep our kids safe and our homes somewhat under control.
And right now, a lot of us are in spring cleaning mode. For me, this has turned into less of a deep clean and more of a quiet walk through my house asking, what here could actually be a problem?
So if you’re already resetting your space, this is a really good time to do a quick safety check too.
Here are a few areas I always look at this time of year:
Button Batteries (start here if you do nothing else)
These are in way more things than you think. Remotes, key fobs, thermometers, kids’ books, little toys.
If swallowed, they can cause serious internal burns very quickly.
